selvedge | 2026

Selvedge sits on the shifting boundary between land, water and atmosphere, where forms emerge, dissolve and are continually reshaped.

Rooted in my own relationship with the coast, the collection came out of horizon, weather, erosion and changing light.

Weaving is repetition until a form exists that was not there before, and the selvedge is the finished edge it builds to. Erosion works the same way but slower.

The works are named for processes that belong to cloth, each of which is also something water does to a shore. What is being named is not where a painting is, but what has happened to it.

Each piece is designed to be familiar enough to recognise a place once known but open enough to make it your own.
